A downloadable game for Windows

Welcome to my Game Design capstone project! I'm graduating in May 2019, and this is the culmination of my time in college. I'm planning to update this page with each iteration of my project so people can follow the progress of the project. The goal is to develop and publish a game over the course of the semester.

At this time, the project is available for free, and I intend to have a free demo version available no matter what. I'm most likely going to keep the game freely available, but if the quality is good enough at the end of the semester (or if I continue development after the semester ends) I will consider releasing a full, paid version or accepting donations for my work. That is why I am not currently accepting donations for this project.

The game that I am envisioning is a light action RPG that focuses primarily on combat. You are a Titan, a character who has the ability to tap into the power of your ancestors and change your class and abilities on the fly. You are defending the world from the Menace, a monster army that is invading. The story is still in progress but in its current iteration, the game allows you to run around and fight as a warrior or mage against endless enemies.

Enjoy, and please feel free to leave feedback. I'm creating this game entirely myself, including all of the assets (art, effects, sound, etc.) I want this game to be as cool as possible.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my project, and enjoy!

NOTE: At this time I am only able to build the game for Windows...I would like to be able to build for Mac and Linux eventually, but for now the game is available for 32 and 64-bit Windows systems.

CHANGELOG:

2/26/2019: Created the game page and uploaded both the prototype and vertical slice versions of the game. Vertical slice is the most recent version.

3/15/2019: The iteration 1 build has been uploaded and is available for download. The following bugs are known and should be fixed for the next iteration build: push block mechanics behave strangely and the physics are buggy, push blocks do not dynamically change AI navigation (i.e. the AI cannot cross the space where the push blocks were), and the class selection HUD can sometimes behave unexpectedly. Despite the known issues, this iteration is exciting in that menus, most notably the class selection menu, now work with gamepad!

4/2/2019: The iteration 2 build was completed. Added a new skeleton enemy to fight and polished existing mechanics. Added in some gameplay settings, such as the ability to choose if you want to toggle or hold to lock onto enemies. The following bugs are known and should be fixed for the beta build: skeletons do not ragdoll properly, physics are still a bit wonky, especially for ragdolls. I'm thoroughly enjoying this semester. While I wish I had more time to work on this game, I think it is starting to come together. At this point, I just need to squash any remaining bugs and add more content to my foundation.

4/9/2019 The iteration 2 build has been uploaded to itch. Apologies for the delay, I had a lot of work to do for my other classes.

5/7/2019 Uploaded beta and final (for the GDD Capstone class) builds to itch. The game is released for the class!
